The set contains 12 pieces. The sutures are absorbable, sterile, made of synthetic fibers, made of polyglycolic acid. The braided threads are covered with a layer consisting of polycaprolactone and calcium stearate and are purple in color so that the suture is visible. The progressive loss of tensile strength, mass and possibly the absorption of the suture is achieved through hydrolysis. The loss of effective resistance of 50% is achieved in 15-18 days after implantation; absorption is complete after a period between 50 and 90 days.
