Povidone Iodine 10% gauze dressing, sterile, 10x10cm, 50pcs

Compresses impregnated with Povidone Iodine 10%, for wounds, sterilized Gamma, Betatulle, 10x10cm, 50 pieces, are brown antiseptic, antimicrobial dressings, made of a viscose fabric uniformly impregnated with ointment containing Povidone Iodine U.S.P. 10% w/w. Betatulle is an antiseptic, antimicrobial tulle dressing brownish in color, consist of knitted weave viscose fabric evenly impregnated with ointment containing Povidone - Iodine U.S.P. 10% w/w. The dressing is supplied sterile in single pieces. Betatulle dressing is indicated for following treatments: • Acute superficial infected wound; • Infection of minor burns, cuts, grazes, fingertip injuries and bites; • Minor trauma and postoperative prophylaxis; • Injuries of superficial skin loss; • Leg ulcer, pressure sores, infected ulcerative wound. Betatulle Povidone iodine is an iodophor, an organic complex with about 10 percent active iodine available. Its spectrum of activity is that of iodine, released slowly and gradually: • Bactericidal in less than 5 minutes in vitro, on all bacteria; • Fungicide on yeasts; • Organic matter (proteins, serum, blood etc.) reduces the activity of free iodine, the active form of this specialty. Iodophors are unstable at alkaline pH. The skin coated with povidone iodine takes on a brown color which is easily removed with water.
