Key Features: • Composition: HEXATULLE is made from a leno weave fabric, where the warp and weft threads are composed of cotton. The gauze is evenly impregnated with white Soft Paraffin BP, which contains 0.5% Chlorhexidine Acetate BP, providing enhanced antiseptic properties. • Sterility: Each dressing is individually wrapped in a sterile pouch, ensuring a high level of safety and hygiene. • Chlorhexidine Antiseptic Action: The Chlorhexidine Acetate slowly releases from the dressing, offering effective, long-lasting protection against both Gram-positive (+) and Gram-negative (-) bacteria. Uses: HEXATULLE is indicated for a variety of wound types, particularly where there is a risk of infection or for wounds that are already infected. This dressing is ideal for: • Minor burns and scalds; • Lacerations, abrasions, and skin loss; • Donor and recipient graft sites; • Leg ulcers. Instructions for Use: 1. Prepare the wound by cleaning it using standard techniques. 2. Select the appropriate size dressing and open the sterile pouch (or tear the end of the roll pack). 3. Using gloves and forceps, remove the protective paper from the dressing. 4. Place the dressing directly on the wound in a single layer, ensuring it makes direct contact with the wound surface. 5. If needed, apply a secondary absorbent dressing and secure it with a retention bandage or fixation sheet. 6. Changing the dressing: HEXATULLE can remain in place when changing the secondary absorbent dressing. The frequency of change will vary based on clinical needs, from once a day to twice per week. 7. If the dressing adheres to the wound, gently soak it off with a sterile saline solution. Contraindications: • Adults: Do not use HEXATULLE on more than 15% of the body surface area. • Children: Do not use on more than 10% of the body surface area. • Allergy Warning: Do not use if you have a known allergy or sensitivity to Chlorhexidine. Precautions: • Rare side effects: Dermatitis, contact sensitivity, or photosensitivity may occur in some cases. Anaphylactic reactions to Chlorhexidine are rare but have been reported. • Avoid contact with the eyes, middle ear, meninges, or brain. • Incompatibilities: HEXATULLE should not be used with soaps, anionic materials, or potassium iodide.
