Medical soda lime for CO2 absorption, 5 liters
Product code: 1886
In stock
Description
Medical soda lime is a high-performance CO₂ absorbent designed for use in anesthesia and respiratory systems. It ensures efficient CO₂ removal, maintaining a safe breathing environment. The absorbent reacts chemically with CO₂, converting hydroxides into carbonates and water through an exothermic reaction.
Features & Composition:
• Color: White.
• Quantity: 5 liters.
• Composition:
Calcium hydroxide (EC 215-137-3) – 97%.
Sodium hydroxide (EC 215-185-5) – 3%.
Color indicator: Ethyl violet (EC 219-231-5) – 0.03%.
• Granule Size: Regularly shaped pellets (3mm diameter).
• Hardness: 92-95% (minimizing dust formation and ensuring optimal CO₂ conductivity).
• Moisture Content: 13-17% for optimal absorption.
• Humidity Absorption: 3.2-3.4%.
• Color Change Indicator: Transitions from white to violet, indicating usage level.
• Packaging: 5L canisters with clear labeling (usage instructions, color indicator, manufacturing date, expiration date, lot number, and CE marking).
Instructions for Use:
• Filling Procedure:
Fill the absorber in two or three stages, gently compacting between each stage.
Fill to the absorber’s fill mark or approximately 5mm below the top if no mark is present.
Once installed, ensure the absorbent granules remain settled and level for optimal performance.
• Storage & Usage:
Once opened, any unused content should remain sealed and be used within one month.
When using re-fillable absorbers, discard the contents after one month, regardless of the level of usage.
When to Replace the Absorbent:
• Use in conjunction with inspiratory CO₂ monitoring. Replace when inspiratory CO₂ concentration reaches 5mm Hg (0.5% CO₂ volume).
• The color change varies based on conditions of use and is only an indicator. Always verify CO₂ levels.
• At the end of surgery, assess remaining absorption capacity before continued use.
• When used with a validated respiratory filter, the absorbent may be used on multiple patients until exhausted.
Important Notes:
• Some absorbents may regain their original color between uses. However, this does not mean absorption capacity is restored. Discard absorbent once exhaustion is determined.
• Follow hospital procedures and clean the absorber according to the Instructions for Use of the anesthesia workstation.
Medical soda lime is an essential component for safe and effective CO₂ absorption in anesthesia and respiratory care, ensuring reliable performance and patient safety. Specifications
