Mathieu needle holder is a medical instrument used to fix and handle the needle during suturing. A Mathieu needle holder has the active part textured to maintain a firm grip on the surgical needle. This prevents the needle from twisting or slipping during the suturing operation. The instrument is equipped with a ratchet lock at the maximum end of the handle. By simply tightening the handle, the lock is locked at the desired position or the door is unlocked.
