Description
ALCALACTONE surgical sutures are high-quality, synthetic absorbable sutures, composed of 75% Polyglycolic Acid and 25% Co-Caprolactone. These sutures feature a monofilament purple thread, 75cm in length, attached to a 16mm reverse cutting needle with a 3/8 curve. Packaged sterile and available in boxes of 12 pieces, ALCALACTONE sutures are designed to meet the rigorous standards of the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) and United States Pharmacopoeia (USP).
Product Features:
• Composition: 75% Polyglycolic Acid, 25% Co-Caprolactone;
• Thread Type: Monofilament, purple (D&G violet No:2);
• Length: 75cm;
• Needle Type: Reverse cutting, 3/8 curve, 16mm length;
• Diameter: USP 5/0;
• Sterility: Sterilized by Ethylene Oxide;
• Packaging: 12 pieces per box.
Benefits:
• Synthetic and Absorbable: ALCALACTONE sutures are absorbed by the body, minimizing the need for suture removal and reducing the risk of tissue irritation.
• Minimal Tissue Reaction: Designed to be non-antigenic and non-pyrogenic, these sutures elicit only a mild inflammatory response.
• High Tensile Strength: Retains 60%-70% of its tensile strength at 1 week and over 30%-40% at 2 weeks post-implantation. Complete absorption occurs between 90 to 120 days, providing approximately 21 days of wound support.
Indications:
ALCALACTONE sutures are ideal for general ligation and soft tissue approximation where absorbable sutures are required. They are commonly used in skin covering, gynecology, dermatology, plastic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, urology, general surgery, and ligatures.
Actions:
ALCALACTONE sutures promote the ingrowth of fibrous connective tissue and are absorbed through hydrolysis. The absorption process includes a progressive loss of tensile strength followed by a loss of mass, ensuring minimal acute inflammatory reactions and effective wound healing.
Precautions:
• Not recommended for use where extended tissue approximation is required.
• Avoid using in elderly, malnourished, or debilitated patients without supplemental nonabsorbable sutures.
• Not suitable for neural or cardiovascular tissues, or microsurgery.
Storage:
Store in a dry, clean environment between 5°C-25°C, away from moisture and direct heat. Do not use it if the package is opened or damaged, and discard any unused sutures after opening.
Warnings:
• Familiarize yourself with surgical techniques for absorbable sutures before use.
• Avoid prolonged contact with salt solutions to prevent calculus formation.
• Follow acceptable surgical practices for drainage and closure of contaminated or infected wounds.
• Handle with care to avoid damage, especially during knotting and passing the needle through tissue.
Adverse Reactions:
Potential adverse effects include wound dehiscence, inadequate wound support, infection, minimal acute inflammatory reactions, localized irritation, delayed absorption in poorly vascularized tissues, and formation of calculi in urinary and biliary tracts.
Ensure the highest standard of care in surgical procedures with ALCALACTONE surgical sutures, providing reliable performance and optimal wound healing.
