The needle destroyer was designed to quickly melt needles with a diameter between 1.2mm-1.6mm, reaching a temperature of 1000⁰C. The melting charcoal must be replaced every 4000 needles to maintain its effectiveness. The needles are sterilized and destroyed, while the remains resulting from the destruction are collected in a tray arranged at the base of the device.
